Exploring the aesthetic aspects of the animal world
This type of work includes paintings which explore the aesthetic aspects of the animal world, with its unbridled energy and inexhaustible dynamicity.
His approach takes the form of an iconographic search for a paradise which is both distant and at the same time close, like our memories of childhood, of a place of innocence in the relationship between man and the “otherness” of animals.
Graphic synthesis is prevalent, but on occasion Lauzana is tempted by the spell cast by colour. This results in creatures inhabiting a rapidly-changing fantasy world, but one which has elements that are realistic, never banal, and always inspired by nature.
Thematics
Lauzana has always depicted a wide range of subjects, constantly extending his modus operandi, painting according to his whim, frequently changing the perspective from which he interprets the flowing forms and phenomena, adapting his research to a growing number of inner sensations and situations.
Thus, he is able to appreciate the more grotesque aspects with gentle irony, the profoundness of spirituality with a sincere fascination, the human physiognomy with interpretative skill, the primigenial vibrancy of the animal kingdom and the morphological and chromatic richness of the vegetable kingdom.
